Sumo Champs Win Again

TOKYO (UPI) - Two rival yokozunas (grand champions), Tochinishiki and Wakanohana, won their third straight bouts in convincing fashion Tuesday on the third day of the 15-day sumo tournament.
Tochinishiki, who is shooting for his second straight championship, leaped to one side as up-and-coming Kashiwado, third-ranking maegashira, charged furiously. Tochinishiki quickly pushed out the puzzled Kashiwado.
Wakanohana, who is favored by most experts to win the tournament, displayed giant strength by easily shoving third-ranking Fujinishiki out of the ring.
Ozeki (champion) Kotogahama suffered his third straight defeat when his left knee touched the sand as he grappled at close quarters with fourth-ranking maegashira Naruyama.
Sekiwake Wakahaguro, 280 pounds, defeated fourth-ranking maegashira Wakachichibu, 330 pounds, after a pushing duel that sent 10,000 spectators into a frenzy.
