FUKUOKA, Japan (UPI) - Strong hairy chested ozeki Asashio swept aside a major obstacle Friday in his bid for the championship in the 15-day official sumo tournament here by defeating komusubi Tamanoumi.
    The 28-year-old Asashio from Amami Oshima Island, south of Kagoshima Prefecture, won his 13th bout against one defeat and continued to lead in the tournament by half a bout over yokozuna Wakanohana.
    Wakanohana was forced to unleash all his strength in defeating sekiwake Wakahaguro in the day's final bout.
