Sumo Wrestlers Leaving For US To Learn Mat Art
Macfarland

Two Japanese Sumo wrestlers will soon leave for the United States to learn the gentle American art of gouge and bite.
John M. Macfarland III, pro Wrestler from Omaha, Nebraska, announced recently at the Imperial Hotel that he has concluded contracts with Umeno Kiyomigawa and Takeo Hayanami, both of Osaka, calling for a six-month tour of the U.S. pro circuit.
The group will leave sometime in February for San Francisco where the two Japanese wrestlers will undergo a short training period before meeting opponents in the pro ring.
Macfarland is currently on a three-month Japan tour during which he wrestled at Kanagawa Stadium in Yokohama on January 4 and expects to make a Tokyo appearance about January 15. Following his Tokyo bout he is scheduled to fight in Sendai in the latter part of this month.
