Autumn Sumo Meet Opening On sept. 18

    Tokitsuyama, the aggressive 290-pounder who chalked up a splendid record of 12 wins and three defeats in the Summer Tournament, jumped two spots to be ranked "Haridashi Sekiwake" for the West team for the 15-day Autumn Grand Sumo
Tournament to open Sunday, September 18, at the Kokugikan , Kuramae, Asakusa in Tokyo.
    In the "banzuke" listing for the forthcoming tourney, issued Friday, by the Japan Sumo Association, monstrous 355-pound
Mitsuneyama, with an unimpressive 6-9 record, was dropped from the second-ranking "Ozeki" rung to "Haridashi Sekiwake."
    As expected, "Yokozunas (Grand Champions)" Tochinishiki (14-1), the defending champ, and Kagamisato (11-4) are listed at the top of the heap for the East and West teams respectively.
