Emperor Goes To Sumo

    His Majesty the Emperor made it a big day in the current main summer sumo tourney at the Kokugikan Arena in Asakusa Tuesday by an unprecedented appearence. The three Grand Champions Chiyonoyama, Kagamisato and Tochinishiki welcomed His Majesty to the arena.

SUMO RESULTS (Page 4)

    Grand Champion Kagamisato and Chiyonoyama went down to stunning upset setbacks in the presence of the Emperor attending a Sumo tourney for the first time since his ascension of the throne.
    It was the second defeat for Kagamisato, who was downed by Shinobuyama, and the third for Chiyonoyama, a surprisingly easy victim of Asashio.
    The downfall of the two Yokozunas left Tochinishiki, who disposed of second-ranking Ozeki Mitsuneyama on the 10th day of the current Summer Grand Sumo Tournament  .. top contender for ... laurels in the .....
