EMPEROR TO ATTEND SUMO MEET TUESDAY

    The Emperor will attend a Grand Sumo Tournament for the first time since he ascended the thrown next Tuesday afternoon when he is tentatively scheduled to visit the Kokugikan Arena at Kuramae, Asakusa, Tokyo.
    The Emperor, an avid Sumo fan, has followed with great interest the Sumo tourneys by television.




SUMO RESULTS

    Top yokozuna championship favorite Chiyonoyama went down before the furious on rushes of underdog Annenyama Thursday in the biggest upset of the current Summer Grand Sumo Tournament midst the wild cheers of a capacity Kokugikan crowd.
    By his amazing triumph, Annenyama evened the count with Chiyonoyama who defeated him in their only previous clash in the spring tourney in Osaka.
    Chiyonoyama's setback left only Tochinishiki and Kagamisato, who won their matches, as the only Yokozunas to remain undefeated as the fifth day of matches were concluded.
