CHIYONOYAMA SEEN NEARING SUMO CROWN

    OSAKA, Mar. 19. - With only one more day to go in the current Grand Spring Professional Sumo Tournament Grand Champion Chiyonoyama almost wrapped up his second straight tourney title when he trounced Sekiwake Matsunobori, 5 feet 7 and 320 pounds, in a top event on the 14th day of the tourney at the packed Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium, Namba, Saturday.
    Giant Sekiwake Ouchiyama, who is certain to climb the ladder to the Ozeki rank in the coming summer tourney, defeated another giant, Odachi, 6 feet 4 and 390 pounds, in a spectacular bout.
    Ouchiyama with a record of 12-2 will clash against Grand Champ Chiyonoyama (13-1), for the coveted Emperor's Trophy in the last match of the final day, Sunday, and in case Ouchiyama wins over Chiyonoyama there will be an extra bout between the two to determine champ.
    With 14 days gone in the 15-day tourney, the following three wrestlers are believed to win the prizes in the respective fields.
    Asashio (9-5), 6 feet 3 and 278 pounds, for his fighting spirit; Wakanoumi (11-3) for his fine performance and Kotogahama (9-5) for technical ability.
