SUMO RESULTS

OSAKA, Mar. 16. – Grand Champion Chiyonoyama and giant "Sekiwake" Ouchiyama are  now rated as the most powerful contenders for championship as two other favorites - "Sekiwake" Wakanohana and "Maegashira" Dewaminato - suffered their second setbacks on the 11th day of the grand spring professional sumo tourney at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium, Namba Wednesday.
Ouchiyama trounced Wakanohana in the most exciting tussle of the day while Chiyonoyama easily won over Miyanishiki.
The two top favorites will clash at the stake of the Emperor's trophy in the last bout of the 15-day tournament if they maintain their brilliant records of only one loss.
Dewaminato in the lower bracket of the "Maegashira" class was defeated by Osaka born grappler Shimanishiki.
In view of his splendid showing, popular Asashio seemed to score another stunning upset victory over "Yokozuna" Tochinishiki but the grand champ's breath-taking technique of leg kick forced the former to suffer the third defeat.

Results of other main bouts were:
Onobori beat Hajimayama
Shinobuyama beat Wakasegawa
Tamanoumi beat Odachi
Matsunobori beat Naruyama
