SUMO RESULTS
Ninth Day

    Last year's sumo man of the year, Grand Champion Tochinishiki, went down to his third setback of the New Year's Grand Sumo Tournament at the Kokugikan at Kuramae, Asakusa, Monday as he fell before the powerhouse tactics of Asashio.
    It was Asashio's second victory over a Yokozuna, having whipped Chiyonoyama Sunday.
    With six more days left in the 15-day tournament, Kagamisato, 354-pound Yokozuna, and Ouchiyama, 305-pound Sekiwake (No. 3 grade), continued to loom as top favorites for the tourney championship with records of one defeat in nine matches by disposing of Naruyama and Shinobuyama, respectively:
