Tochinishiki sumo wrestler of the year 1954, who copped two grand tournament championships, heads the West team roster, replacing Yokozuna Azumafuji who has retired, for the New Year's' Grand Sumo Tournament to open January 9 for 15 days at the Kokugikan arena at Kuramae, Asakusa.
    With Tochinishiki's recent promotion to Yokozuna and Ozeki-ranked Mitsuneyama's shift to the East team, the West will be without an Ozeki (second-rank man) for the first time' since the war.
    The lineup of leading contestants for the forthcoming tourney, announced Monday by the Japanese Sumo Association, is as follows:

Sekiwake - Ouchiyama
Haridashi Sekiwake - Matsunobori
Komusubi - Miyanishiki

Yokozuna - Chiyonoyama, Haridashi Yokozuna - Kagamisato
