I went back to the Sumo arena the next day and at
last began to understand what was going on. But this action, as I see it,
is not only Japanese. It is just that the Japanese have developed it to
a public game.
The way I see it, it reminds me of my fat aunt Jennie.
She was always trying to put on a tight girdle so she wouldn't look so
fat. Trouble is, she was so fat she could never get the girdle on; so she
had to call in someone to help pull it on. Well, there's Sumo.
It's just two fat men trying to help one another
get into a girdle and they tug and pull and tug. Every once and a while,
this character in the fancy clothes and a ping-pong paddle, has to jump
in and help, but from what I've seen, no one ever manages to pull the girdle
on the other guy. Just like my fat aunt Jennie, too, they usually end up
falling down exhausted, nothing accomplished. I wonder if they have the
same trouble putting on their pants?
Yes sir, the Japanese are a patient people. They
can just sit and watch two fat men trying to pull on a girdle for 15 days.
Seems to me it would be simpler just to lose weight
