Sumo Wrestlers Arrive In States for Matches

LOS ANGELES (INS) - Four of the leading sumo wrestlers of Japan reached Los Angeles Tuesday to give exhibitions in the United States and to take on all comers - if any.
The gargantuan specimens of the Nipponese wrestling ring - huge men weighing between 300 and 400 pounds - planned to stay in Los Angeles for a week. Future plans have not been completed.
Al Richardson, veteran sports promoter of Oakland and Hongkong, brought the four to America. Among the group is the grand champion Maedayama.
To quell the huge appetites of the tusslers, Pan American Airways announced that special food was put aboard the plane.
