College Sumo Men To Hawaii
TOKYO, Mar. 11 - Japan's 15 college sumo (Japanese
wrestling) champions and two coaches will visit Hawaii to compete with
Hawaiian wrestlers, Liberal Diet member Hanji Ogawa, president of the Collegiate
Sumo Federation said.
Ogawa said he has received an invitation from Mamoru
Kobayashi of the Hawaii Sumo Association to send a Japanese delegation.
Ogawa made the arrangement with sports leaders in
Hawaii when he stopped over at Hawaii on his return from the United States
and Europe last month.
If arrangements are made as expected, the team will
leave Japan on June 8, Ogawa said.
