Terukuni Cops Title For Second Season
TOKYO, Jan. 28 - By winning all of his 15 bouts,
"yokozuna" Terukuni, captain of the East camp, made it the second straight
title victory in the 1951 spring main professional sumo tournament, which
was brought to a close at the Kokugikan arena, Asakusa, here today.
In the final match of the 15 day competition, the
defending champion pushed another "yokozuna" Azumafuji, the heaviest wrestler
in Japan out of the ring to keep unmarred his undefeated record.
Promising "sekiwake" Yoshibayama, one of the most
powerful contender for the individual championship, suffered his second
defeat in the current tourney at the hand of Kagamisato, "sekiwake" of
the West team.
