The Japan Sumo Association Monday September 11, announced the new rankings for the coming autumn main professional sumo tournament scheduled to open Sunday, September 17, at the specially constructed ring in front of the Citizen's Hospital, at Abeno, Osaka.
    This is the third official sumo tourney to be held in Osaka.
    According to the new ratings, Azumafuji, "Yokozuna," who won the previous tournament held in Tokyo in May, was installed as the captain of the east camp, replacing Haguroyama, another "yokozuna" who assumed the leadership of the West team.
    Promising wrestler Yoshibayama was promoted to the rank of "sekiwake," while Wakasegawa and Mitsuneyama were elevated to "komusubi" for their good showings in the summer meet.
