The spring Sumo tournament ended Saturday with the presentation of the grand prize to Chiyonoyama, who won 12 out of 15 matches. He won the same honor at the autumn tournament held at Osaka last year. The special merit prize was given to Yoshinoyama who defeated the Yokozuna Terukuni, and four Ozeki. Wakanohana was awarded for showing the best fighting spirit, and Tochinishiki for technical skill.
