Grand Champion Haguroyama suffered his first defeat of the current 15 day spring sumo tournament when Kamikaze dumped him on the fourth day.
    Haguroyama hurt his right leg and immediately announced he would leave the ring for several days.
    With Haguroyama out, the tourney is without a Grand Champion since Azumafuji and Terukuni withdrew earlier.
    The situation has resulted in voices being raised against the Grand Champion system wherein a wrestler once reaching that select circle cannot be demoted. Progressive elements are asking for the institution of a championship system similar to that employed in boxing.
