The annual Spring Sumo Tournament will begin its grueling 15 day program Saturday at the newly constructed wrestling stadium at Kuramae, Asakusa, located between Asakusa-bashi and Kaminari-mon and Avenue "R".
    Huge, top-knotted sumo wrestlers will be headed by Grand Champions Haguroyama, Terukuni and Azumafuji.
    Experts have picked Haguroyama, Champion Chiyonoyama, Kagamisato, Rikidozan and Hashimayama as leading favorites come through with the fewest number of defeats. The individual championship is based on the win-loss record of the wrestlers in the 15 day competition.
    Matches will begin daily in the morning, but the feature bouts will be in the afternoon from about 2 p.m. The daily program ends about 4.30 p.m.
