TOKYO,  Jan. 12 - The 13 day official spring tournament of the Japan Professional Sumo Association got under way at the temporary Kokugikan, Hama-cho, here, today.
    All the reserve seats on the first day were sold out, and a big crowd of sumo fans swarmed out to the Kokugikan long before the opening at 8 a.m.
    On the eve of the tourney, the time honored ring festival was solemnly observed yesterday in the presence of the association officials and others concerned.
