Sumo Starts Today
All Wrestlers To Vie In Autumn Main Tourney
TOKYO, Nov. 2 - The 11 day autumnal main tourney
of the Japan Sumo Association will open Monday, November 3, at the sumo
ring in the outer garden of the Meiji Shrine here, being participated in
by all wrestlers on the roster of the association.
On the eve of the main tournament, a ring festival
was solemnly observed by the association today beginning at 11 a.m.
The leading pairings on the first day are:
