AUTHORITIES FREE JAPANESE CULTIST, YOSHIKO NAGAOKA

Yoshiko Nagaoka, the 45-year-old Japanese woman who was jailed when police ruled her Jiukyo religious cult was not in accordance with the principles of the Potsdam Declaration, has just been released after being diagnosed as a demen tia paranoia or grandiosemaniacimbecile, Jiji Press reported yesterday.
Claiming to be a Sun Goddess, she preached the superiority of the Japanese race, Kanazawa City police revealed. Her release followed that of Futabayama, former sumo champion, who was one of her most ardent followers. Police detained several of her "Cabinet Ministers," who were seized when police took the goddess, also known as Jikosama, and Futabayama into custody.
Japanese newspapers reported that high-ranking Japanese wartime military leaders had often consulted her during the last months of the war. Among these were Korechika Anami, late War Minister, and Gen. Sugiyama, Army Chief of Staff, who committed suicide at the time of the surrender.
A ten minute conversation between Jikosama and Professor Akimoto, Kanazawa psychopathy authority, was recorded and will be broadcast on a Japan-wide hookup, it was said.
The release of the self-styled goddess made front page headlines in most of Tokyo's daily newspapers.
