Ex-Wrestler, General And Diet Member To Open
Stores In Shibuya Shopping Center
Takashi Tokoyama, managing director of the Shinwa-gumi
Company, known as Musashiyama when he was one of the most popular champion
wrestlers of the country, will soon open a little shop dealing in hardware
along Dogenzaka Street, shopping center of Shibuya Ward, Jiji Press reported.
Side by side with Musashiyama's hardware store will
be another shop selling toilet goods to be managed by a daughter of former
Lieutenant General Ritsuhei Ogisu, who commanded an army which stormed
into Nanking in December 1937.
Next to Ogisu's will be a delicatessen to be kept
by former Major General Tokutomi Tada, who was with the army at Palau Island
throughout the Pacific war.
Adjoining the retired general's shop will be a grocery
to be opened by Shichiroku Tanabe, former member of the Diet from Yamanashi
Prefecture.
A new row of some 50 shops is being built along
Dogenzaka to be opened early this month and those mentioned above are among
them. Included in the same row are three grocery stores to be run by workers'
unions of the Shibuya Government Railroad Station, Shibuya Ward Office
and Shibuya Government Revenue Office.
