Kotonishiki Grabs Sumo Championship

Tournament In Osaka Ends With Ceremony

    Winning all of his scheduled 11 matches, Kotonishiki, rising "maegashira" of the West team, took the individual championship in the Osaka main sumo tourney on June 26 at the Kokugikan, Abenobashi, Osaka, thereby finally materializing his ambition in the official sumo tournament.
    Following the conclusion of matches, a closing ceremony was held, in which Kotonishiki, the champion of the current tourney, was given various prizes.
