Fighting Itsutsuumi Topples Nayoroiwa
Itsutsuumi, "maegashira" of the East team, who defeated
Haguroyama, "yokozuna," and Saganohana, "ozeki," on the second and third
days, again shone by toppling Nayoroiwa, "sekiwake," on the fifth day of
the Osaka main sumo tourney, June 19, at the specially constructed ring,
Abenobashi, Osaka.
On that day, Maedayama, "ozeki" of the West team,
who has been absent from the ring since the opening day, made his debut
in the current series, but was thrown down by Kashiwado, a tricky grappler.
