Close upon the heels of the Kyoto tourney held for 10 days beginning April 1, the Osaka main series of the Japan Professional Sumo Association will be jointly sponsored by the association and the Japanese Compatriots Relief Society from June 14 at the specially constructed ring at Abenobashi, Osaka.
    Although the period of the main sumo series has been shortened from 15 days to 10 after the end of the war, the coming tournament will last for 11 days.
