Minanogawa, wrestling champion, who ran in the Tokyo second zone under his real name, Kyojuro Sakata, was defeated, gaining only 4,213 votes.
    Popular novelist, Tatsuzo Ishikawa, running in the same zone, did better with 23,634 votes, but failed to place.
