The Dai Nippon Sumo Association, at the post tourney meeting of its directors for the compilation of new rankings held on May 24 at its office, unanimously recommended Saganohana, "sekiwake" of the East team, as "ozeki" in view of his good showings in the past several tourneys, especially in the spring tournament this year, when he won the individual title.
