Title To Haguroyama

Championship Defended By E. Team; Sumo Meet Brought To End

    By winning all of his 10 scheduled matches, Haguroyama, "yokozuna" and captain of the East team, won the individual title in the summer main sumo tourney, which wound up on May 23 at the specially constructed ring in the Korakuen stadium, Tokyo. This was the second individual victory for Haguroyama.
    In the senior inter-team competition, the East successfully defended its championship, scoring 134 points against the West team's 104. On the last day, the East outpointed the west 19 to 5.
