Mitsuneyama Shines Again By Downing 'Yokozuna'
Mitsuneyama, rising "maegashira" of the East team,
who defeated Terukuni, "yokozuna," on the opening day, again shone by beating
Akinoumi, another "yokozuna" of the West team on the fourth day of the
summer main sumo tourney on May 10 at the specially constructed ring in
the Korakuen stadium, Koishikawa, Tokyo.
On that day, the East team outpointed the West team
15 to 9 to regain the lead in the senior inter-team series with the total
score of 49 to 47.
