Osaka Sumo Tourney

13-Day Event To Be Open At Abenobashi Today

    The 13 day Osaka tourney of the Dai Nippon Sumo Association will be opened on March 2 at the specially constructed Kokugikan at Abenobashi.
    Akinoumi, "yokozuna," who, it had been reported, would be absent from the tournament, will take part in matches from about the seventh day of the tourney. He will display "dohyoiri" from the first day however.
    Azumafuji, rising grappler, will participate in the tournament from the middle of the series.

The leading pairings on the first day are as follows:
