Terukuni Defeated; Sumo Tourney Will Come To Close Today

    The spring main sumo tourney, which has been going on since January 9, will be wound up today (January 23) at the Kokugikan, Ryogoku, Tokyo.
    In an "all-yokozuna" bout on the 14th day, January 22, Haguroyama defeated Terukuni, thereby increasing the possibility of capturing the individual title. Saganohana, one of the most promising candidates for the championship, went down in defeat as the hands of Sagamigawa, thus suffering his second defeat.
    In the inter-team series, the West team increased its lead over the East team by 12 points, the day's score being 11 points to 7.
