Futaba Bows Again

Masuiyama Takes Measure Of 'Yokozuna' On 11th Day Of Tourney

Futabayama, "yokozuna" of the West team and defending champion, was defeated by Masuiyama, "komusubi," on the 11th day of the spring main sumo tourney at the Kokugikan, Ryogoku, Tokyo, thus suffering his second defeat since the beginning of the current tournament.
Azumafuji, promising grappler holding the first rank in the "maegashira" class of the West team, who was matched with Terukuni, "yokozuna," on that day, defaulted due to an injury, as a result of which Terukuni was given an uncontested win according to the rules.
