2 Sumo Wrestlers Are Prohibited From Appearing In Meet

Aobayama and Ryuozan, wrestlers of the East and the West teams, respectively, of the Dai Nippon Sumo Association, were prohibited by the association to take part in the current tournament as from May 22, the 11th day, on the ground that they have no fighting spirit.
When they met on the ring on the 10th day, May 21, neither tried to defeat the other in earnest.
Failing to decide the match in spite of a rest taken during the bout, they were pitted against each other for a re-match after two other contests. However, they again drew another mid-bout rest to the great disappointment of the spectators.
As a result of the decisive step taken by the association, Wakasegawa and Komatsuyama, opponents of Aobayama and Ryuozan, respectively, on the 11th day's program, were automatically declared victors.
