Haguroyama Loses

Futabayama And Terukuni Are Matched Today

    Haguroyama, "yokozuna," who was one of the three undefeated grapplers in the senior camp, was toppled by Akinoumi, "yokozuna" and captain of the East team, in the feature bout on the 13th day of the spring main sumo tourney, at the Kokugikan, Tokyo, on January 22.
    Keeping up their winning streaks on the same day, Futabayama and Terukuni, both "yokozuna" and undefeated wrestlers, will meet in the last match of the 14th day.
    By launching a general attack, the East team outpointed the West team 15 to 8 on the 13th day to narrow the West's lead to only one point, 144 to 143, in the senior inter-team series.
