Sumo On 10th Day

West Team Outpoints East By 1 Win

    Maedayama, "ozeki" of the West team, tasted his second defeat when he lost to Sagamigawa, "komusubi," on the 10th day of the spring main sumo tourney at the Kokugikan, Tokyo, on January 19.
    In the senior inter-team competition, the West team outpointed the East team by only one point, 11 to 10, on that day to increase its lead in the series to four points, 113 to 109.
