West Takes Lead

Results Of Sumo Matches On 7th Day Given

    By launching a powerful attack on January 16, the seventh day of  the spring main sumo tourney, the West team took a lead over the East team by three points, 81 to 78, for the first time since the first day in the senior inter-team competition at the Kokugikan, Tokyo. On the seventh day, the West team outrivaled the east team 14 points to 8.
