Sumo On 5th Day

West Team Outpoints East For 1st Time

    Nayoroiwa, "ozeki" of the West team, who suffered his first defeat on the third day, was again toppled by Sakuranishiki, "maegashira" on the fifth day of the spring main sumo tourney at the Kokugikan, Tokyo, on January 14.
    The West team outpointed the East team 13 to 10 on the fifth day for the first time since the opening day, but the East team still leads the senior inter-team series by seven points, 61 to 54.
