Aki And Futaba Draw

Akinoumi, the challenger, and Futabayama, the defending champion, grappled to a draw after three hard-fought bouts in the 12th professional sumo tourney for the cup granted by H.I.H. Prince Tsunenori Kaya held on June 4 at the kokugikan, Ryogoku, Tokyo.
The affair, held with the support of the Tokyo Nichi Nichi, was honored by the presence of H.I.H. Prince Kuninaga Kuni.
In the three match challenge round, Futabayama won the first match and Akinoumi took the second. The third and deciding  match was fought desperately, both doing their best, but with neither able to win, the match was finally declared a draw.
The tourney was contested by dividing the grapplers into three departments according to their ranks. The winner of the third department was permitted to contest in the second department, and the winner of the second department to fight in the first department.
