Haguroyama To  Rest

Haguroyama, "yokozuna," who tasted three defeats  during the first five days in the current tourney, on May 15 filed a petition with the Dai Nippon Sumo Association asking for his absence from the current tourney, having been diagnosed as suffering from acute kidney trouble.
Matsunosato, who was matched against Haguroyama on the sixth day, May 15, was given an uncontested win.
The day also witnessed the victory of Terunobori over Terukuni, of Ayanobori over Maedayama, and Futabayama over Bishuzan.
West still led East at the end of the day 77 to 75.
