Sumo Broadcast Decision

Ringside broadcasts of the spring sumo wrestling tournament from the Kokugikan arena, Tokyo, will be abolished this year in favor of recorded broadcasts lasting about 15 minutes following the childrens' news hour at 6 p.m. daily.
The above decision was made by the Broadcasting Corporation of Japan in order to give preference to news broadcasts and for other reasons.
On Sundays, the sumo broadcasts will be made following the 3 p.m. news hour.
