FUTABAYAMA TO LEAD 120 WRESTLERS TO CENTRAL CHINA TO ENTERTAIN SOLDIERS

Led by Grand Champion Futabayama, one hundred twenty long haired wrestlers of the Tachinami training house have been given permission by the Army and Navy authorities to go to the front lines in Central China to entertain the soldiers.
The wrestlers have requested that the authorities on the spot refrain from going out of their way regarding their reception and that they be treated as soldiers. They have even volunteered to assist in the transportation of arms and supplies.
Tentative plans call for the wrestlers' departure about September 20 and the trip will take them about 50 days.
Revenues from the usual barnstorming tours during the off-season of the championship bouts in Tokyo in January and February will accordingly be sacrificed.
In Grand Champion Futabayama, Champion Haguroyama and Nayoroiwa, rank just below champion, the Tachinami training house has three of the strongest sumo men in competition today.
