TERUKUNI WINS AGAIN

Terukuni, youngest wrestler in the top ranking circle, caught by the camera as he lifted Taikyuzan high into the air and dropped him outside of the ring for a sterling victory in Wednesday's bouts at the Kokugikan.

ERSTWHILE, WASEDA STUDENT BEATS CHAMPION IN SUMO TOURNAMENT

Kasagiyama, a former Waseda university student and for which reason he is known as the intellectual among the professional long-haired wrestlers in competition today, was hero No. 1 Wednesday in the seventh day's matches of the current 15-day sumo tournament at the Kokugikan, Ryogoku.
The erstwhile Waseda student outfought Champion Haguroyama to account for the latter's second setback to date. Haguroyama was a heavy favorite but this was no cause to put fear into Kasagiyama. He was the aggressor all the way through to score an impressive victory.
No sooner had they stood up than Kasagiyama thrust his left arm through Haguroyama's defense for a grip on his opponent's girdle and he started pushing. Haguroyama, however, checked the drive and in turn gripped Kasagiyama's girdle to be on even terms with him. This time it was Haguroyama who attempted to force Kasagiyama out of the ring but the latter maneuvered himself back to the center and attempted one leg throw after the another. Haguroyama barely saved himself from falling, and tried to lift his opponent into the air. Kasagiyama countered by hooking his right leg onto Haguroyama's left. During the ensuing struggle, Haguroyama's right foot stepped outside of the ring and it was Kasagiyama's victory.
Grand Champion Futabayama remained the only undefeated wrestler in the first ranking circle competing in the East versus West competition. He threw Komanosato in less than five seconds for his seventh consecutive victory.
Grand Champion Minanogawa had a bad day Tuesday when he lost to the veteran Oshio but he was back in form Wednesday and just about toyed with the up and coming Saganohana. With his powerful arms, he crushed the younger opponent out of the ring.
