Sumo Exhibition Honors Two Veterans
A sumo (Japanese wrestling) tournament in honor of two
retiring veterans of the sport got off to a fine start under fair skies
at Korakuen Stadium yesterday morning, but before Grand Champion Futabayama
and other notables reached the ring, a drenching rain sent spectators scurrying
for shelter. The unfinished program will be continued today, weather permitting.
The retiring sumo artists are Kaikozan and Toshuzan, both of the maegashira,
or fifth rank.
