Futabayama Wins

Thunderous applause rocked the Osaka Kokugikan, Sekime, East Osaka, on Monday, March 20, at 6.30 p.m., cheering "Yokozuna" Futabayama, champion of champions, who finished the 13 day Osaka professional sumo tourney without a defeat.
Futabayama's victory has disproved the opinion of many experts that he is slipping after three defeats he suffered in the spring Tokyo tourney in February. In gaining his 13th straight victory of the tourney, "Futaba" downed "Ozeki" Maedayama, who in almost all of the past tourneys has been his closest rival.
    Other final day victors were:
Kagamiiwa over Ayanobori
Haguroyama over Banjaku
Ryogoku over Tamanoumi.

Haguroyama finished the tourney with only one defeat, that being at the hands of Futabayama. Dewaminato, the victor of the spring Tokyo tourney, finished the Osaka campaign with 10 victories and three defeats. Tsurugamine also finished with 10 victories and three defeats.
