FUTABAYAMA PICKS BRIDE

The smile above of the usually poker-faced Futabayama, strongest Japanese wrestler in competition today and still only 28 years old, is plenty proof of his happiness in becoming engaged to Miss Sumiko Koshiba, 23, of Osaka, a millionairess in her own right. The engagement, which broke the hearts of thousands of admirers among the fair sex of the good-looking grand champion, was announced Saturday night. Only recently, a vernacular newspaper carried what then seemed a scoop that Futabayama and Miss Chiyoko Okura, movie actress of the Nikkatsu Productions, were to be married shortly. Then there have been rumors that the grand champion would eventually be married to one of the two charming daughters of his teacher and manager Tachinami.
To the news reporters Saturday night, Miss Koshiba, who presently is making her home temporarily in Tokyo, said she is marrying the man Futabayama, and not the grand champion. They met last year. They will be married early in May.
Miss Koshiba is a graduate of the Tennoji Girls High School in Osaka. She also finished the whole course at Shoin Women's College.
