Practising For Tomorrow

Tsunenohana (right) is seen here tackling Hitachiiwa (left) in the training ring of the Japan Sumo Association, preparing for tomorrow's great wrestling bouts at the Kokugikan, Ryogoku, Tokyo.

WRESTLING BEGINS TOMORROW AT THE RYOGOKU STADIUM

    Haikkiyoiya! Haikkiyoiya! Nokotta! Nokotta!
Kokugikan, the wrestling stadium in Ryogoku, will be in gala attire tomorrow.
After two years' absence due to the great disaster of 1923, the sumotoris return tomorrow to display their skill before thousands of wrestling fans who just see these frog like human beings wobble in the "dohyo," will sacrifice a day's business to clap their hands and drink sake while the ancient sport of Japan goes on.
The wrestlers with long hair tied at the top of their heads to save their skull from being bruised when they are tossed headlong into the dirt by their opponents are ready for the opening day's program.
Haikkiyoiya! Haikkiyoiya! Nokotta! Nokotta! and the pristine games goes on just like in the days of the shoguns.
