Opening Wrestling Tournament

The "dohyo-iri" or ceremony of entering the arena, was performed by Onishiki, the champion wrestler, at the opening of the season's wrestling tournament at the Kokugikan hall at Ryogoku, Tokyo, Friday.
 

ASSOCIATION EXPELS CHAMPION WRESTLERS

    The Tokyo Wrestling Association has announced that all the champion wrestlers, who have been on strike since Friday owing to the Association's refusal to meet their demand for higher wages, have been expelled from the Association.
    The only leading wrestlers remaining in the Association now are Onishiki, Tochigiyama, Chibagasaki, Genjiyama, Tsunenohana, Akutsugawa, Wakahitachi, Onishiyama and Ibukiyama as well as two "gyoji" or umpires.
