Director Iwatomo Of Local Wrestling Organization Quits
Director Iwatomo, of the Osaka Wrestling Association, tendered his resignation to Chief Director Fujishima on December 25. Directors of the association are chosen every two years, and at the time of the last two elections, Iwatomo manifested his intention of resigning and each time was dissuaded by Fujishima. This is the third time he has tendered his resignation, and Fujishima will not intercede on his behalf. The board of directors will hold a meeting to vote for his successor.
Resignation Expected
As his resignation has been expected for some time, lively competition to fill the vacancy is anticipated. Asahiyama, Onogawa, Chiyodagawa, and Tokitsukaze are believed to be possible candidates. Those interested in wrestling matches say that champions are getting inferior now-a-days, and the election of new officers at the present time is looked upon with keen interest. Iwatomo says he is growing old and popular as he is, he has no strong pupils to, look to in future. He is resigning to make room for younger men. The reinstatement of Hiranishiki will also be discussed at the time of the meeting, and, in all probability, approved. As to the formality of reinstatement, a further meeting will be held.
