Tokyo And Osaka Contestants To Be Divided According To Birthplace

Wrestlers of  Tokyo and Osaka will hold a joint wrestling tournament to be held at the Kokugikan Hall as Osaka for ten days beginning March 17. They will be classified as representing Eastern Japan and Western Japan, according to their birth place.
This is the first time since the days of Emperor Hanazono that Tokyo and Osaka wrestlers have been divided into two groups according to their place of birth.
Besides a trophy to the winning side a prize of between ¥1,000 and ¥5,000 will be given to the champion wrestler on the condition that the money be contributed to his native town or village for some charitable or other useful work.
