TACHIYAMA RECEIVES CHALLENGE FROM U.S.

Japan's Champion Wrestler May Visit America To Try His Luck

Tachiyama, the wrestling Champion, has recently received a challenge from an American wrestler, and it is reported that Tachiyama is willing to visit the United States and give him a bout. Tachiyama is engaged until the end of May, and it will be probably June or July before he will leave for the United States.
Tachiyama visited Hawaii some years ago, and was challenged by wrestlers of Hawaii, but at that time he refused to meet American wrestlers.

Make Take Troupe

The offer of the bout with the American wrestler made Tachiyama plan for an exhibition trip through the United States, and he will probably travel with several other Japanese wrestlers. But only Tachiyama and Isenohama will meet the American wrestlers on the mat.
As the rules of the Japanese Sumo are so different from those of the Catch-as-can, there will be some difficulty in making up rules fair to both combatants. Tachiyama is reported to have stated yesterday that he has full confidence in winning from the American heavy-weight wrestling champion.
